The Rivers And Their Ecology

WB Delaware River

West Branch Delaware River – The West Branch is the gem of wild trout fishing in the East. People from around the country travel to the West Branch to pursue its wild brown and rainbow trout. New York City uses water from Cannonsville Reservoir to meet a river flow target over 90 miles downstream in Montague, New Jersey. In the 1960s, construction of the Cannonsville Reservoir displaced numerous communities and buried sections of river once known for its nighttime eel fishing.
